Wall murals can be created through the technique of Trompe L'oeil painting, or 'Fool the Eye" painting.  Trompe L'oeil is an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects do exist. Faux painting is similar in that it is a technique that creates texture and nuance by replicating the look or feel of other surfaces. Both trompe l'oeil and faux can be the entirety of the surface treatment or it can be an individual aspect of a custom wall mural.
